Logo Design Process
- Choose a Brand name
- Customers & Competitors - find out the target customers as well as the competitors from the client. Also find out who your client sells to (age, gender, spending power, race and online interaction).
- Competitor analysis - do some research on the competitors to see what colors, logo marks and typographies they use so you can decide whether to go with something similar or totally against norm.
- Mind map - choose some words that define the brand and find symbols appropriate for those keywords.
- Find out what emotions the brand intends to communicate.
- Pick 3 words and expound on those.
- Find objects, animals or colors that relate to the words you've chosen.
- Mood Board - find pictures of animals or objects you've chosen from the mind map. Google images, dribbble.com, behance.net
- Draw your logo - draw on paper, ideas then move them to the computer to tidy them up. Do a minimum of 20 and number them.
- Develop in illustrator.
